Barry John Kinsella is an actor and writer. Since graduating from the 3 year Acting Course at Lir Academy in July 2018, he made his professional stage on the Peacock stage at the Abbey Theatre playing the lead role of Bobby in Madhouse, co-written by Una McKevitt and PJ Gallagher and directed by Cathal Cleary. He also played Jay Gatsby in the Gate Theatre production of The Great Gatsby, directed by Alexander Wright. At the Lir he acted in several productions with directors Tom Creed, Annabelle Comyn, Ronan Phelan, Lynne Parker and Caitriona McLoughlin. Barry made his screen debut in Graham Cantwell’s feature films Lily (2019) and Felix Castaldo’s feature, The Rollover (2018). He has recently finished shooting television pilot, Tx, in Kerry. Short films include WAVE directed by TJ Peyton O’Grady and Oscar winner Benjamin Cleary, Look Closer, directed by Aleksander Szeser, The Lack Of Colour, starting Bosco Hogan, directed by Aidan Gibson and written by Barry himself. He also starred in two short films directed by Conor McMahon. Barry has also appeared in commercials for Sky TV, Eirgrid and The Department of Justice.
